Medical examinations in the heart of Montpellier: scanner and MRI available at Place de la Comédie

Since Tuesday, April 15th, Montpellier city center has welcomed a brand new radiology practice, located on Place de la Comédie. Contrary to the trend of many current medical facilities that prefer outlying areas, this practice now offers MRI and CT scans in the heart of the city. The team of radiologists, composed of Doctors Didier Solignac, Marie-Caroline Mas, and Christophe Calvet, now offers a more comprehensive range of care, meeting the needs of city center residents as well as professionals working in the area.

A strategic location in the heart of the city

The opening of this radiology practice marks a significant step forward in access to medical care for residents and workers in the center of Montpellier. Contrary to a general trend where medical facilities are located on the outskirts of the city, this practice has chosen to be located in the heart of urban activity. Place de la Comédie, known as a true hub of Montpellier life, serves a wide range of patients by adding a new dimension to the local healthcare offering.

A team of dedicated radiologists

Under the leadership of Doctors Didier Solignac, Marie-Caroline Mas, and Christophe Calvet, this practice boasts recognized expertise in radiology. These passionate professionals now work in shifts between this new hub on Place de la Comédie and their practice located on Boulevard Victor-Hugo, just 350 meters away. This geographical proximity between the two facilities allows for optimized patient care, ensuring continuity and complementarity of services.

State-of-the-art equipment for precise examinations

This new space now offers on-site MRI and CT scans, providing the city center with advanced medical imaging tools. The addition of this heavy-duty equipment, previously absent, enhances the practice’s range of services. In parallel with this opening, the former Post Office vault, located on Place de la Comédie, was redesigned to accommodate these imposing machines, demonstrating their seamless integration into the urban architecture.

A Gradual Ramp-Up

After welcoming its first patients upon opening, the practice is continuing a gradual ramp-up. Initially, exams are being performed at a rate of one patient per hour, allowing the teams to adapt their working methods and optimize the use of the new equipment. However, this rate is expected to intensify starting April 28, when the practice hopes to reach its optimal capacity, thus offering more numerous and more flexible slots.
