In the space of a few minutes, three separate incidents rocked the historic Écusson district, quickly mobilizing law enforcement. These attacks were committed by several armed and determined individuals, sowing panic but prompting a swift and effective response from the local police. A tense start to the morning: the attack on Place de la ComédieAt 4:50 a.m., Place de la Comédie, usually a meeting and socializing spot, became the scene of an attack orchestrated by six individuals against a man. At gunpoint, the victim was forced to surrender a bag, a watch, and cash. The attackers fled through the alleys of Écusson, but the rapid intervention of the National Police led to the arrest of five suspects. The stolen items were found in their possession, highlighting the effectiveness of the police.
Rue Voltaire: Unrestrained Brutality
Not far away, near Saint-Roch Church, another violent attack broke out on Rue Voltaire. A man was brutally beaten by several individuals. Thanks to a precise description provided by the victim, the police were able to apprehend a 23-year-old man wearing gray and black jogging pants and white shoes, perfectly matching the description given. Stabbing on Rue Du Guesclin Simultaneously, on Rue Du Guesclin, another attack involved an assailant armed with a knife threatening a passerby. Despite the fear caused by this knife attack near the carousel, an 18-year-old suspect was quickly arrested, with the police having effectively cordoned off the area.
