During the summer of 2025, Montpellier tramway line 1 will undergo major renovation and expansion work, affecting several segments of this transport service. From Haut-de-Massane to Saint-Paul, via Odysseum and Mosson, several sections will be temporarily interrupted. To alleviate these inconveniences and maintain mobility in the metropolitan area, replacement shuttles and route modifications will be implemented, with particular attention paid to people with reduced mobility.
Renovations and Interruptions in Haut-de-Massane and Saint-Paul
Work will begin on Whitsun weekend, affecting the Haut-de-Massane and Saint-Paul areas. Service will be interrupted between the Occitanie and Mosson stops from 9:30 p.m. on June 7 until 5:00 a.m. on June 9. To compensate for this interruption, shuttle buses will be set up, running every fifteen minutes according to the “Sundays and Public Holidays” schedule. At the same time, bus route 19 will be diverted at the Carrefour de l’Albigeois until July 11, and the Hauts de Massane stop will be relocated to Avenue de l’Europe for this period. Extension to Odysseum: Nighttime Shuttles In order to extend route 1 to the Odysseum sector, nighttime shuttles will be implemented to integrate the Overhead Contact Line. From June 22 to 26, service between Place de France and Odysseum will end earlier. This crucial step in the extension will soon provide an efficient connection between Saint-Roch and Sud de France stations without changing trams. Construction work between Antigone and Moularès Hôtel de VilleFrom June 28th to July 6th, Line 1 will be closed from Saint-Roch Station to Moularès Hôtel de Ville. The stops at Du Guesclin, Antigone, Léon Blum, Place de l’Europe, and Rives du Lez will be closed. will not be served. Demolition of the Arche Mercure in Mosson Finally, the demolition of the Arche Mercure will result in the suspension of tram services between Saint-Paul and Mosson from July 24 to August 13.
