A young 25-year-old lawyer in Montpellier died of acute meningitis after her repeated calls to Center 15 went without an adequate response. An avoidable tragedy

Desperate, the friend sought help from acquaintances, but logistical constraints delayed the arrival of a suitable vehicle. At 4:56 p.m., with the help of a friend, the young woman was transported with difficulty to a polyclinic in an already very critical condition. But unfortunately, no additional call to the Samu made it possible to trigger the necessary intervention to prevent the inevitable.

Failures that are costly

The death of this young lawyer at the Saint-Roch polyclinic, followed by her transfer to Montpellier University Hospital, resonated like a shock wave for his loved ones, his colleagues and the entire health community of HĂ©rault. An investigation was opened by the Montpellier public prosecutor’s office to investigate the causes of his death, while the CHU also initiated an internal investigation.
