This approach injects nearly €1.2 million into the local economy and generates around €750,000 in economic benefits for the Montpellier metropolis. You will discover emerging talents from the region, carefully selected for their skills and creativity.
An eco-responsible approach
Palmarosa stands out for its eco-responsible commitment. The festival adopts a zero plastic policy and recycles all glass bottles through partnerships with AOP Languedoc and Oc’Consigne. In addition, on-site catering is provided by food trucks which respect a strict commitment charter to only work in a short circuit with organic and fresh products.
Ecological partnerships and initiatives
Around twenty associations collaborate with the festival to collect organic and recyclable waste. The previous edition made it possible to recycle more than 100kg of waste into compost and agricultural biosolution, and to collect nearly 10,000 cigarette butts. In addition, festival-goers’ urine is recycled into a biosolution for farmers thanks to the innovative initiative of Toopi Organics.
Accessibility and transportation
To reduce the carbon footprint, Palmarosa encourages the use of public transport and ecological modes of transport. Trams and shuttle buses allow local festival-goers to get to the site without a car. Last year, more than 300 people came by bike, a trend that the festival hopes to see continue this year.
Solidarity and art
Solidarity is also at the heart of the Palmarosa project. In addition to musical performances, the festival offers a pop-up art gallery with Parcelle473 and Solid’Art. Seven artists will exhibit and sell their works for the benefit of Secours Populaire, to allow children to go on vacation.
