Palavas-les-Flots and Carnon
If you dream of Mediterranean, direction Palavas-les-Flots or Carnon! Several means of transport are available to you:
-
Tram and bus:
Take tram line 3 to Pérols-Étang de l’Or. From there, either walk 2.2 km or take line 1 of the Transp’Or network. This short walk will take you to many stops such as Roquilles beach or Marines du Prévost for only one euro. Allow between 35 and 50 minutes depending on the stops.
-
Because :
Hérault Transport coach 631 takes you from the Prés d’Arènes district, Garcia Lorca stop on tram line 4, to Palavas in just 15 minutes. This same rate of one euro applies. But be careful, the number of buses per hour is limited!
The Small and Large Crossings
For a slightly different beach experience, discover the Petit and Grand Travers:
-
Tram and shuttle:
Once again, take tram line 3 to Pérols. From there, a shuttle will take you to the Grand Travers in 10 minutes. Departures are frequent, every 10-15 minutes, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the possibility of returning until 10 p.m. in high season.
-
Bus :
Another route is to take bus 606 after taking tram line 1 to the Place de France stop. Allow around 3.20 euros for the round trip.
Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone
Lovers of bike will be delighted! Every weekend in June, and every day in July and August, TaM offers around 200 bikes free of charge at the Pilou bus stop in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone.
To get there, take bus line 32 from the Garcia Lorca stop to Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone (around 20 minutes). Once you arrive, leave an ID as a deposit and cycle 10-15 minutes to Pilou beach. Who says you can’t do cardio at the same time?
Cycling routes from Port Marianne
For those who want to take the adventure a little further, two bike routes leave from Port Marianne:
- Towards Palavas: A lovely stroll along the Lez will take you to Palavas in 45 minutes to an hour.
- Towards Carnon: This road, running along avenue Raymond Dugrand, will offer you a magnificent panorama on the way to Carnon. Get ready to sweat a little under the valiant Mediterranean sun!
