Avenue Albert-Einstein: From plantation to urban forest

In 1992, Avenue Albert-Einstein was still in development. The Zenith had just been inaugurated and Odysseum did not exist. At the eastern entrance to the city, Pines were planted, pine by pine, creating a setting still far from what it is today. The road, already 2×2 lanes, timidly prepared the ground for future growth.

Fast forward to 2024, and this same avenue is almost unrecognizable. The planted pines have become a lush forest, making avenue Pierre-Mendès-France (formerly Albert-Einstein) one of the busiest axes in the city. Between Montpellier and the highway, this space is now overflowing with vitality and urban functionality.

Plan de l’Om: A reinvented place

Back in 2003, where the Map of Om (named after « elm » in Catalan) was dominated by cars. This strategic space in the Écusson, nestled between Place de la Canourgue and Saint-Pierre Cathedral, functioned mainly as a « short-term » car park, offering essential convenience to those who knew how to use it.

In 2024, the transformation is spectacular. The square is now pedestrianized, and although a new tree has taken root in its center, the space has been freed from cars. Rue Vanneau: From a historic garage to a modern hotel

Rue Vanneau, located near Rue Boussairolles, once housed the famous Citroën garage. In 2005, this historic building was already abandoned, attracting the interest of many investors. Finally demolished in 2012, this urban wasteland gave way to an Ibis Styles hotel, open since April 2014.
